Position: Corporate Accountant

As the Corporate Accountant, you will ensure day-to-day financial activities are executed accurately and efficiently while driving continuous improvement in processes and accounting controls.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Maintain and improve audit processes to achieve zero critical audit exceptions.
  • Ensure compliance with union remittances, tax filings, and government deadlines (EHT, WSIB, Source Deductions, HST).
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly closings and government filings.
  • Process on-time, error-free payroll.
  • Maintain positive monthly cash flow.
  • Ensure accuracy in revenue and expense forecasts and support budgeting processes with insightful variance analysis.
  • Process, review, and accurately enter invoices.
  • Complete all general ledger and bank reconciliations and conduct periodic audits.
  • Identify bottlenecks and enhance efficiency through streamlined workflows and Lean problem-solving methods.
  • Ensure all financial recording complies with Canadian GAAP.
  • Oversee construction draw receipts, submissions, payments, and employee payroll.
  • Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting.
  • CPA designation.
  • Construction industry experience is an asset.
  • Proven success in financial reporting, forecasting, and process optimization.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis, financial modeling, macros/VBA, Power Query).
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and adaptability to new accounting software.
  • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP, taxation, auditing principles, and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on actionable insights.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, capable of handling multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills, able to present complex financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset, valuing team input and success.
  • High attention to detail and results-oriented approach.
  • Integrity and ethical conduct in handling confidential information.
