Our client is rapidly growing and expanding their successful Franchise Business. Looking to strengthen their corporate headquarters, they need a Corporate Accountant to support the VP of Finance. The role will involve overseeing general accounting functions for the growing franchised restaurant chain, including month-end closing, budgeting, forecasting, corporate governance, and statutory remittances. This position is key in ensuring accurate financial records as the company prepares for significant growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Month end closing
  • Quarterly tax tasks
  • Annual audit engagement prep for external firm
  • Monthly financials including P&L statements
  • Budgeting
  • Forecasting
  • Corporate Governance
  • HST filing and Payroll remittances
  • Manage 1 staff responsible for AP and AR tasks
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the food, restaurant, franchise or hospitality industry.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and best practices.
  • Experience with Quickbooks and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
