Job Purpose:

We are seeking a Corporate Accountant, working on a hybrid schedule and based at our North Vancouver, BC headquarters. In this role, you will be responsible for: assisting with the day-to-day corporate accounting and reporting of the Company's corporate and limited partnership entities, JV and institutional reporting, onboarding and accounting for new property acquisitions, preparing and coordinating distributions for investors, and helping develop processes and best practices for assigned accounting tasks. You will work directly with the Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  1. Corporate reporting
    • Assist with reviewing day-to-day accounting, reporting, and banking transactions of the Company's corporate entities, liaising with the property accounting team.
    • Assist the finance team with bank reconciliations, bank transactions, and review of payables.
    • Help prepare annual institutional reporting and support external financial audits.
    • Monitor cash flow positions and perform weekly reconciliation and reporting of cash positions.
    • Complete and deliver month-end and year-end corporate reports based on deadlines.
    • Assist with acquisitions and dispositions as needed.
    • Improve month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  2. Acquisitions/Distributions
    • Review new acquisitions ASC-805 reports and cost segregation reports, and assist with purchase price allocations.
    • Review investor funds posting, ensuring funds are received correctly.
    • Monitor incoming investor funds and recommend cash movements.
    • Manage investor information in Yardi, ensuring accuracy of Capital Roll Forward Reports.
    • Maintain LP books, bank reconciliations, and monitor ownership percentages.
    • Review distributions including annual, refinance, disposition, and preferred distributions.
    • Complete acquisition closing reconciliation workbooks timely.
  3. Other
    • Assist with special projects as requested.
    • Conduct accounting research and resolve corporate and operational accounting issues.
    • Handle documentation and collection of corporate AR, including invoices, banking transactions, and entries.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience & Qualifications:

- University degree in accounting or related field; CPA is a plus.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience or public practice experience.
- Experience with US Corporate entities and US GAAP.
- Experience in real estate sectors is preferred.
- Familiarity with Yardi Voyager software is an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments and countries.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 plus benefits
