Job summary

Core Industrials is seeking a Journeyman Red Seal Millwright for a camp-based position at the BHP Mine Site in Jansen, Saskatchewan. You will inspect, repair and maintain mechanical equipment on site, ensure compliance with safety policies, and perform daily inspections.

The role operates on a 14/7 schedule, 10 hours per day, with overtime as required. The camp offers full-service facilities including cafeteria, gym, library and theatre.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Red Seal Millwright Ticket is required.
• 5A Driver’s License is required.
• Strong knowledge in general maintenance & millwrighting.
• Potash mining experience is an asset.
• Pre-employment medical exam and drug test will be required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
• Inspect equipment on a regular basis, pre and post operating.
• Communicate any unsafe conditions or wear/damage of equipment to supervisor to facilitate corrective action.
• Inspect, install, adjust and maintain mechanical machines and equipment on site.
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance on Koepe and Blair Hoists.
• Troubleshoot, repair, assemble and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Dismantle, repair and reassemble equipment as required and per manufacturers’ specs.

Job description

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will operate in a safe and appropriate manner. You will be responsible for safely leading and executing various mechanical duties and you will be required to follow all policies and procedures and legislation required to operate the equipment safety.

This position will be based on a 14/7 shift schedule, 10 hours/day; however, the candidate must be willing to work overtime when needed and hours may change based on the client’s requirements.

This position will be located at BHP Mine Site - Jansen, SK. This is a camp-based position. Jansen Discovery Lodge at BHP is a state-of-the-art camp that includes the following: full-service cafeteria, housekeeping, gym with a raised running track, library, and theatre.

Job Duties

• Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
• Inspect equipment on a regular basis, pre and post operating.
• Communicate any unsafe conditions or wear and/or damage of equipment to supervisor in order to facilitate corrective action and meet federal regulations.
• Inspection, installation, adjustment and maintenance of mechanical machines and equipment on site.
• Daily Inspections and Maintenance on Koepe and Blair Hoists
• Machine troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and preventative maintenance.
• Dismantling, repairing, and assembling equipment as required and in-line with manufacturers specifications and recommended standards.
• Thorough knowledge and use of a micrometer, dial indicators, and other tools necessary to achieve the settings and tolerances required.
• Safely work from a ladder, platform, staging scaffold or mobile basket.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge in general maintenance & millwrighting
• Journeyman Red Seal Millwright Ticket
• 5A Driver’s License
• Potash Mining experience is considered an asset
• Effective, self-managing, good problem-solving skills, planning, organizing and priority setting skills combined with a strong work ethic
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be open and flexible to change, take initiative
• Pre-employment medical exam and drug test will be required
