Copywriter (Mid-Senior) - VML Toronto

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Copywriter looking to do the best work of their career to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong creative voice, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to produce world-class work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate strategic direction into compelling copy and campaign messaging across various mediums, including broadcast, OLV, and digital, and working across owned properties.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated (mid-senior) art director partner to develop and refine impactful and cohesive creative concepts.
  • Adapt to creative direction and deliver high-quality work quickly to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure all copy and messaging adheres to the client's brand guidelines and strategic objectives.
  • Research to inform, inspire, and elevate creative ideas.
  • Develop presentation decks and present concepts to clients.
  • Support campaign asset creation, including writing scripts, developing taglines, and crafting compelling narratives.
  • Coordinate with remote team to manage production and authoring of online assets.
  • Nurture the creative growth of the team and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a copywriter within an advertising agency or similar environment.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing various projects and mediums across both traditional and digital spaces.
  • Expert-level proficiency in crafting compelling and persuasive copy.
  • Well-versed in the latest social media trends, including platform-specific creative.
  • A team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and simultaneously manage and deliver multiple projects.
  • A passion for creativity and innovation.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate your ideas clearly and succinctly.
  • A receptive and reasoned approach to client and internal feedback.
  • The ability to create and execute ideas efficiently and in an organized manner.
