Qualifications

Job description

Teldon Media Group is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Copywriter & Content Proofer to support our Creative Services team. In this dual role, you will write compelling product descriptions for our line of personalized marketing products and be responsible for maintaining the quality, accuracy, and consistency of our print materials with final proofing before print production. Your work will bring clarity, polish, and charm to our custom marketing products, ensuring each piece is both impactful and error-free.

Key Responsibilities

Copywriting

  • Write engaging and concise product descriptions for our calendar offerings and other print marketing materials
  • Adapt tone and messaging to align with client specifications, brand guidelines, and project requirements
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to highlight product features and emotional value
  • Conduct image research to support design concepts and storytelling
  • Manage timelines effectively, consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining production schedules
  • Perform additional copywriting or editorial tasks as assigned by management

Content Proofing

  • Maintain and follow established proofing protocols to ensure accuracy and consistency across all products
  • Review final calendar layouts and print mock-ups for grammar, spelling, formatting, and brand alignment
  • Verify consistency in tone, voice, and branding throughout all printed materials
  • Collaborate with the production and design teams to resolve any inconsistencies or errors before final printing
  • Cross-check all custom elements (e.g., dates, names, captions, descriptions) for accuracy
  • Coordinate materials and timelines to be put into pre-production

Required Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a copywriter, editor, or content proofer — ideally within the print industry
  • Diploma or degree in English, Communications or a related field is preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills in English, including grammar, spelling, and proofreading abilities
  • Strong writing skills with a clear, creative, and engaging tone
  • Familiarity with layout proofing and a sharp eye for design details is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) is an asset
  • Good understanding of visual design principles, including typography, balance, color, and layout
  • Comfortable working alongside designers to ensure textual and visual harmony
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines consistently

Compensation

The expected annual salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000. Final compensation will be commensurate with applicable experience and skill level.
