Position Overview

LawDepot is expanding and seeking a Copywriter – Checkout Experience in Edmonton, Alberta. This full-time, permanent role involves creating, planning, and executing content and design experiments to optimize UX in our website's checkout area. The position offers a 37.5-hour work week with a hybrid office schedule.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Create checkout pages focused on conversion rate optimization (CRO) and increasing customer lifetime revenue.
  2. Develop persuasive, engaging, and user-friendly content guiding users through checkout.
  3. Edit and organize page elements to improve checkout performance.
  4. Update pricing and subscription information to communicate value propositions.
  5. Implement copy and design updates via our CMS with high attention to detail.
  6. Research best practices, competitor strategies, pricing, and user behavior to identify opportunities.
  7. Use A/B testing to experiment and optimize the checkout experience.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UX designers, analysts, and product owners.
  9. Analyze checkout page performance and customer segmentation to inform improvements.
  10. Provide actionable recommendations for strategic enhancements.
  11. Communicate progress and next steps regularly.
  12. Create assets for checkout experiments, both self-initiated and team-driven.
  13. Coordinate with IT teams for implementation support where CMS support is lacking.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  1. Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Communications, Psychology, or related fields.
  2. Experience in conversion-focused copywriting.
  3. Understanding of consumer psychology, online marketing, and CRO strategies.
  4. Excellent communication and editing skills.
  5. Proficiency in CSS and ability to work on visual experiments and responsive layouts.
  6. Ability to simplify complex information and adapt writing styles.
  7. Strong research and analytical skills.
  8. Self-motivated with collaborative spirit.
  9. Quick learner of new tools, including CMS.
  10. Organizational skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  11. High attention to detail and quality commitment.
  12. Familiarity with front-end tools and UX writing is a plus.
  13. Knowledge of CRO best practices is an asset.
