Job summary

Priority Electronics in Winnipeg, Manitoba is seeking a Manufacturing Technical Lead – Copper. You will be the technical resource on copper cable and wire-harness manufacturing, leading hands-on improvements and supporting production teams.

You'll work with Production, Quality, Product Management and others to develop and improve methods, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure proper documentation and training are in place for consistent quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

Hands‑on experience in copper cable, wire-harness, or related electrical/electronic manufacturing.
Strong technical knowledge of wire cutting, stripping, crimping, termination, assembly, and testing processes.
Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, tooling, and production processes.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, product specifications, BOMs, and work instructions.
Experience developing or improving manufacturing processes and documentation.
Strong problem‑solving skills and a practical, solutions‑focused approach.
Ability to explain technical information clearly and train others effectively.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
A collaborative approach to working with Production, Quality, and other departments.
Post‑secondary education in manufacturing, electronics, electrical technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

Develop, document, and improve manufacturing methods for copper cable and wire-harness products.
Provide hands-on technical support for wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, termination, connector assembly, harness construction, and testing.
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and identify practical, sustainable solutions.
Help establish consistent processes that support quality, efficiency, and repeatability.
Support Production in resolving technical challenges that affect workflow and product quality.
Establish and maintain equipment set‑up requirements and manufacturing parameters.
Evaluate tooling, fixtures, crimp applicators, harness boards, and other manufacturing equipment.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment capability, process efficiency, and manufacturing consistency.
Support prototype builds, First Articles, production trials, and new product introductions.
Ensure manufacturing processes, tooling, documentation, and technical training are ready before new products enter production.
Develop and maintain production bills of materials (BOMs), manufacturing routings, work instructions, and equipment set‑up documentation.
