Environmental impact assessments and social acceptance coordinator

Your day-to-day work will include the coordination of multiple environmental scopes of work, including identifying environmental and heritage impacts, coordinating subject matter expert inputs to risk, preparation of environmental monitoring reports and results interpretation against accepted standards. This role is client facing and may involve stakeholder engagement.

Your role within the team :

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following :

  • Prepare and review / approve scope, budgets, schedules, change management and deliverables according to contract terms;
  • Subconsultant and subcontractor management and coordination;
  • Coordinate and review environmental permit applications and technical reports associated with regulatory approval or compliance requirements;
  • Support environmental compliance and management system auditing programs;
  • Ensure quality of work including work plans, field programs, data collection and analysis, mapping, technical reports and management plans, environmental monitoring;
  • Provide guidance to less experienced staff to complete quality and timely deliverables or tasks;
  • Relationship management on behalf of, and has directed by clients with project stakeholders, partners and agencies.

The ideal candidate :

  • A university degree or college diploma in environmental science or related studies or equivalent experience with environmental impact assessments and social acceptance;
  • At least 7 years of experience with a focus in impact assessments and social acceptance, preferably within an environmental consultancy;
  • Experience in participating in projects on time and within budget with a high degree of client satisfaction;
  • Thorough knowledge of best practices with the environmental impact assessments and social acceptance;
  • Fluency in French (spoken and written), bilingualism, an asset;
  • Possible professional environmental accreditation or eligibility (e.g., RBTech, RP Bio., EP, P.Ag., P.Eng., RPP) and project management accreditation or eligibility (CAPM or PMP).
  • ISO14001 Environmental Management or ISO9001 auditing accreditation or experience is an asset;
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to plan and prioritize workload to manage multiple assignments at one time.
