Job summary

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in business development, community outreach, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in employer outreach, stakeholder cultivation or community engagement.
  • Work experience in non-profit sector is an asset.
  • Knowledge of adaptive technology an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and vision loss is considered an asset.
  • Willingness to travel within the province.
  • Strong research, prospecting, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Research and prospect potential employer partners aligned with Talent Pool’s needs and labour market trends in the province.
  • Build and maintain vocational partnerships with service providers for referrals, program collaboration, and best-practice sharing.
  • Generate a consistent pipeline of employer partner prospects for activation by Lead, Employer Engagement.
  • Collaborate with the team to align outreach with priority industries and sectors.
  • Deliver awareness presentations to new potential employer partners to expand employment opportunities.
  • Provide regular updates on outreach activities, partnerships, and employer engagement progress.
  • Track and maintain records of outreach, employer contacts, and presentations using CRM, portal, database and other tools.
  • Participate in related events, fairs and initiatives to promote the Come to Work program.
  • Support continuous improvement of outreach strategies by monitoring trends and employer feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned including special projects and events.

I. Scope and Summary of Primary Responsibilities


The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for researching and prospecting potential employer partnerships that align with Talent Pool’s needs, desired industries, and labour market trends in the province. This role also develops and maintains collaborative vocational partnerships with service providers, creates a steady flow of incoming employer partner prospects for activation by Lead, Employer Engagement, and supports targeted outreach efforts in collaboration with the Cultivation team. The Outreach Coordinator also delivers awareness presentations to new employer partners, helping expand opportunities for the Come to Work Talent Pool.


II. Essential Functions


The position entails, but is not limited to the following general responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain vocational partnerships with service providers for referrals, program collaboration, and best-practice sharing.

  • Generate a consistent pipeline of employer partner prospects for further activation by Lead, Employer Engagement.

III. Qualifications


Knowledge and Skill Requirements



  • Strong research and prospecting skills with knowledge of provincial labour market.

  • Experience delivering presentations and initiating employer engagement including cold calling.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills including public speaking skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual platforms such as Zoom.

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce is an asset.

  • Knowledge of disability inclusion, workplace accommodation and accessibility, or employment supports for individuals who are blind, Deafblind, or partially sighted is an asset.

  • Ability to travel independently within the province.

  • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Experience and Education
