Coordinator of Chishaayiyuu and Current Services

Salary :

Our client, a major Indigenous Nation in Quebec, is seeking a Services Coordinator for one of its regions located in the North.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 40 people – nurses and community workers.
  • Work closely with the director and coordinators of the Community Center (CMC) to ensure the effective delivery of social and healthcare services to the population.
  • Act as a liaison officer to coordinate activities across different departments and provide support to management to ensure seamless service delivery at the CMC.
  • Take responsibility for services aimed at adults (30 years and older) and seniors, as well as their care providers.
  • Oversee the provision of preventive and curative healthcare, including infectious disease management, mental health support, and access to social services.
  • Contribute to the management and optimization of specialized services at the CMC, including laboratory, radiology, pre-dialysis, hemodialysis, medical records, dental, and pharmaceutical services.

Skills and qualifications :

  • Willingness to reside within the community (not on a fly-in/fly-out or contract basis).
  • Good knowledge of the MSSS network, regulations and programs for General and Current Services and nursing practice in a Community Health & Social Service Center (CLSC) and Hospital Ambulatory.
  • Good knowledge of and experience with acute and current nursing, health and social services in a first line community health clinic and hospital ambulatory unit, and its related theory, practice, current issues and trends, and program planning and supervision, including the development of policies and program manuals and quality assurance systems.
  • Good knowledge of multidisciplinary team functioning and leadership.
  • Ability to manage the planning and development of new services and programs.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to grasp the issues and context related to First Nation health and social services.
  • Northern health care experience is an asset.
  • Good interpersonal communication, clinical and community health leadership and respectful teamwork skills.
