Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) seeks a Maintenance Materials Coordinator at Fording River Operations in British Columbia. This role focuses on coordinating resources for maintenance activities within the Mobile Maintenance Department, integrating materials planning, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure timely execution of work orders.

You will collaborate with Planning, Scheduling, Execution and Materials teams, leverage CMMS and SAP experiences, and support safety programs

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in materials coordination, inventory, purchasing and logistics
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience with purchase orders, receiving, shipping and inventory reconciliation
  • Prior experience with CMMS and common Microsoft tools
  • Working knowledge of Maintenance Planning and Materials Management Best Practices
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Validate the delivery status of all material scheduled and provide mitigating actions for issues
  • Complete requisitions for new items, parts description changes and min/max changes supporting Plant Maintenance and Supply Chain
  • Order special tools or equipment as required
  • Coordinate part requirements with purchasing, planning and execution
  • Assist with material management of cores and parts returns, shipping requirements, and material issues
  • Assist crews with break-in work orders, parts sourcing and availability
  • Verify availability of service manuals and documentation for processing equipment with Execution
  • Aid in parts organization, storage and tracking
  • Participate in daily and weekly scheduling meetings
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with job plan creation
  • Implement and develop Best Practices
  • Review and process warranty claims with Warranty Coordinator and vendors
  • Assist with shutdown planning, tooling, consumables supplies and parts deliveries
  • Support planning and scheduling as back up when required

About the role:

This role is based at EVR’s Fording River Operations and will be responsible for the coordination of resources for maintenance activities within the Mobile Maintenance Department. This position combines the responsibilities for materials coordination and documentation improvement to ensure resources are available to support the execution of all maintenance activities. Close coordination with the Planning, Scheduling, Execution, and Materials groups will be required to drive continuous improvements.

In this role you will:
  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies

  • Assist with job plan creation
  • Implement and develop Best Practices
  • Review and process warranty claims. Liaise with Warranty Coordinator and vendors
  • Assist with monthly and yearly shutdown planning, tooling, consumables supplies and parts deliveries
  • Support planning and scheduling as back up, when required
Requirements:
  • Experience with SAP would be an asset but not required
  • 2+ years experience in materials coordination, inventory, purchasing and logistics is preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience with purchase orders, receiving, shipping and inventory reconciliation
  • Prior experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) and common Microsoft tools
  • Working knowledge of Maintenance Planning and Materials Management Best Practices
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
Salary:

$85,000 - $100,000 CAD/year

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
