A leading logistics company in Richmond is seeking a Coordinator, Inventory Control to manage inventory accuracy in the warehouse and system. This role requires at least 2 years of inventory management experience, proficiency with RF scanners, and relevant licenses. The position involves overseeing daily inventory tasks, coordinating shipping and receiving operations, and implementing efficiency improvements. Candidates should have excellent communication and organizational skills, and be physically capable of lifting heavy loads.

Qualifications

The Inventory Control Coordinator ’s primary responsibilities include ensuring and maintaining inventory accuracy in both the system and the warehouse.

Starting Salary : $22 / hour

Responsibilities

  • Perform critical inventory tasks to ensure correct stock levels;
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory control processes, including cycle counts using Excel;
  • Review documentation and monitor product codes to identify discrepancies and troubleshoot quantity issues;
  • Develop improvements to operational procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs;
  • Prepare and review monthly financial inventory reports with management;
  • Pick orders using RF scanners and order picker machines;
  • Maintain inventory integrity in the warehouse;
  • Reconcile discrepancies during cycle counts and physical inventories;
  • Participate in cycle count activities;
  • Manage physical inventory locations, including planning and scheduling;
  • Promote health and safety standards as a safety champion;
  • Coordinate, assign, and review work related to shipping, receiving, storing, and inventory management;
  • Oversee operational logistics, establish work schedules, and resolve issues;
  • Train staff on job duties, safety procedures, and policies;
  • Requisition supplies and ensure equipment maintenance;
  • Perform duties similar to supervised workers when necessary;
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

Qualifications & Success Factors

  • Order Picker Operator and Reach Truck licenses, along with working at heights / fall arrest certification;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory management, cycle counts, and operating material handling equipment;
  • Proficiency with RF scanners;
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently;

  • Computer skills, familiarity with WMS systems, and SAP software;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly, work at heights, and perform physical tasks like sitting, climbing, balancing, and crawling.
