ABOUT OUR OPERATION

The Support and Development Center provide services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and / or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, supply chain, human resources, communications, construction as well as technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, infrastructure, marketing, innovation, and digital transformation).

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

This role focuses on implementing and coordinating Indigenous reconciliation initiatives, primarily through Agnico Eagle’s Reconciliation Action Plan. It involves organizing consultations, supporting internal awareness, engaging with Indigenous communities, and coordinating cultural events. The position also supervises staff, prepares reports, and supports the Indigenous Relations Manager. By fostering collaboration and cultural understanding, the role plays a key part in advancing reconciliation efforts and strengthening relationships with Indigenous partners across the organization.

  • Participate and supervise the implementation of the company's Reconciliation Action Plan with Indigenous Peoples (RAP) in alignment with relevant policies, standard, regulations, and best practices.
  • Support and organize RAP consultations and reporting.
  • Actively engage in RAP initiatives with internal departments, consultants, and Indigenous communities.

  • Responsible to support all initiatives related to Agnico Eagle external Indigenous advisory committee
  • Support regional teams to raise awareness on Agnico Eagle reconciliation efforts and commitments
  • Collaborate with Indigenous communities, stakeholders, and internal teams to identify priorities, goals, and action items for reconciliation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of reconciliation initiatives, track progress against objectives, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on Indigenous reconciliation matters, including cultural competency training and awareness programs.
  • Organize and coordinate important awareness events, such as MMIWG2+ Day, and Truth and Reconciliation Day, ensuring their successful execution.
  • Responsible for Data Management, Project Support, and Administrative Duties: Provide comprehensive data collection, analysis, and reporting utilizing Borealis and other tools, alongside supporting community relations projects from initiation to conclusion, and administering administrative tasks for the Community Relations team, including report generation and note-taking.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • University degree in a field related to community relations, Indigenous studies, public relations, communications, human resources, or any other relevant discipline to indigenous relations in resources extraction.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in stakeholder relations, event organization, and the mining industry is considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and foster positive relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities and consolidate input from various departments into a coherent community relations strategy.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • High level of cultural competency and comfort working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, particularly Indigenous communities.
  • Understanding of Indigenous reconciliation principles and demonstrated interest in corporate social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and citizen engagement.
  • Strong writing and reporting skills, with the ability to operate various AEM systems.
  • Ability to navigate changing contexts and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required, as collaboration with other Agnico Eagle sites is essential.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to regions where Agnico Eagle operates.
  • Ability to support and represent the company’s interests effectively and thoughtfully, ensuring consistency and alignment across the enterprise.

Your Work Schedule

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. Possibility of 5-2-4-3 schedule.
  • Flexibility:Due to the nature of indigenous relations work, availability outside of regular office hours (evenings and occasional weekends) may be required.
  • Workplace:Possibility to work from one of AEM’s offices closest to your residence ( Mirabel, Val-d’or and Toronto ).
  • Hybrid Option:A hybrid work schedule (combining in-office and remote work) may be considered after the onboarding period. This arrangement will depend on demonstrated reliability, performance, and the need for collaboration with teams and colleagues. During onboarding, employees are expected to work primarily from the office.
