Coordinator, Human Resources and Volunteer Services

Full-Time, Permanent

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources and Volunteer Services, the Coordinator, Human Resources and Volunteer Services is responsible for managing daily HR functions. As a key member of the Human Resources and Volunteer Services team, you will be responsible for coordinating and supporting overall HR and Volunteer operations. Your responsibilities will encompass recruitment, orientation, training, and health and safety, among other tasks.

Responsibilities

Assist with recruitment, such as posting job openings, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and following up with unsuccessful candidates.

Provide recruitment support for managers by assisting in creating job postings, interview questions, reference checks and job offers.

Create new employee letters, packages, and manage the onboarding process.

Coordinate with the IT department regarding employee onboarding and offboarding processes.

Maintain accurate employee records on the human resources information system (HRIS).

Respond to employee inquiries related to company policies, and HR procedures, while fostering a positive, open line of communication.

Coordinate employee offboarding processes, including conducting exit interviews and updating records to ensure compliance.

Assist the Director, Human Resources and Volunteer Services perform employee satisfaction surveys, collect feedback, and analyze results.

Manage volunteers onsite at signature events, assist with recruitment, orientation and training.

Maintain accurate volunteer records. Ensure that all details, such as contact information and hours contributed, are current.

Act as an ambassador for the organization and attend events as required.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Completion of post-secondary degree / diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

1-2 years of relevant HR / administrative experience.

Knowledge of labour laws, employment standards, and workplace compliance.

Strong organizational and time-management abilities for handling multiple HR functions.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to details, with strong data entry skills for maintaining organized, accurate records.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).

Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.

Strong critical thinking skills and flexibility to adapt to changing HR needs and demands.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

A keen interest in the organization’s mission, mandate, and desire to help make a difference to people and families living with ALS. Commitment to ALS Canada’s core values and modelling them to others.

Knowledge of an HRIS is an asset.

Bilingualism (English and French) an asset.
