Job description

Inclusion Langley Society is seeking an experienced candidate to join our Home Share & Adult Respite Coordinator team on a temporary full-time basis. This position is available starting June 28, 2021 for up to 18 months, with the potential to transition to a permanent position at the end of the temporary appointment. Successful applicants will have a minimum of a Bachelors degree in human services or an equivalent amount of education and experience.The Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Inclusion Langley Society’s (ILS) Home Share & Adult Respite services. Under the direction of the Manager and in collaboration with the program team, the Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, screening, selection, monitoring and evaluation of approved independent contractors. In addition, the Coordinator also provides ongoing support and advocacy to persons served, their families, and personal support networks. This position participates within a team environment to plan, assess and implement quality service enhancements to ensure effective service delivery that are consistent with ILS’ mandate and policies. Coordinators offer leadership, vision and direction to ensure that quality, individualized and responsive services are provided with respect and dignity.

• a professional, organized approach to their work;
• excellent oral and written communication skills;
• skillful facilitation of both in-person and virtual meetings;
• an excellent understanding of the theory, principles and practices related to the community living sector;
• the ability to provide skilled guidance and oversight to contractors according to ILS’ governance framework, Provincial Standards and Accreditation Service Standards;
• the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team; and
• a commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.Coordinators function independently and frequently under pressure, while managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines. Applicants must be able to work flexible hours, including evening and weekend work as needed.
