Position Overview
This role is based at our Yonge Eglinton Centre office. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Health & Safety and Emergency Management, you will assist in managing the corporate health and safety program, focusing on disability management and accessibility. You will also support emergency management and security coordination as needed.

Responsibilities

  1. Serve as the first contact for health and safety inquiries and incidents, providing guidance and escalation as needed.
  2. Assist in creating and maintaining health and safety guidelines/manuals, ensuring effective communication across all management levels and contractors.
  3. Coordinate health and safety programs, processes, procedures, and resources.
  4. Support the Joint Health & Safety Committees and Worker Representatives nationwide.
  5. Oversee the WSIB disability management program, including return-to-work processes.
  6. Administer the accessibility program for Property Management.
  7. Review insurance risk reports with Property Management teams.
  8. Manage the annual Health and Safety Survey process.
  9. Act as platform administrator for programs like Refined Data, ServiceNow, and Secure App.
  10. Manage vendor relationships, including invoices and service agreements.
  11. Support development of in-house training content and programs (virtual and in-person).
  12. Lead workplace inspections, audits, and investigations of safety concerns and incidents.
  13. Conduct accident investigations, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  14. Assist Property Management with monthly safety inspections.
  15. Maintain files and documentation.
  16. Create memos and internal communications.
  17. Assist with data analysis and reporting for surveys and assessments (e.g., GRESB, BOMA).
  18. Promote a positive safety culture organization-wide.
  19. Travel within the GTA and occasionally across Canada.
  20. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • University Degree or College Diploma in a relevant field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Occupational Health & Safety certification preferred.
  • JHSC Part 1 and Part 2 certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of Canadian health and safety regulations, emergency management, WHMIS, and accessibility laws.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex materials.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with data management software (Refined Data) and Yardi is an asset.
