The Development Communications Coordinator is a member of both the Integrated Development Team (IDT) and the Community Engagement Team (CET), allocating time according to current needs to each team. The role supports all written communications aspects, including research, content development, and program management for digital communications. Responsibilities also include quality reviews, proofreading, and editing of fundraising materials.

The organization will evaluate this position before the end of the term, which may result in an extension or conversion to permanent status.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:
  • Hourly wage: $31.76 to $39.01
  • Initial rates are subject to grid increases as per policy; internal staff will be placed on the appropriate grid based on current pay, up to Level 8.
  • Work schedule: 70 hours over two weeks, Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm.
  • Benefits: 9% in lieu of benefits.
  • Pension plan: Immediate eligibility for optional enrollment in Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP).
HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
  • Develop and maintain materials supporting fundraising efforts, including correspondence, case summaries, donor stories, and impact reports.
  • Serve as a principal writer, collaborating on various written materials such as scripts, presentations, and key messages.
  • Create content for subscription programs and digital assets to foster stewardship and relationships.
  • Work collaboratively to deliver high-quality experiences for donors, prospects, and community partners.
  • Support communication strategies for donor acquisition, cultivation, stewardship, and recognition through digital and mail channels.
  • Participate in planning and executing fundraising events and community activities.
  • Attend and support organization-sponsored events, both during and outside of normal hours.
  • Assist in preparing communications for the Employee Giving Program.
  • Manage activity levels and report on weekly actions to meet targets.
  • Attend weekly development team meetings and briefings with the IDT Process Manager.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY:

Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last six months. Applicants residing in London are encouraged to apply early due to processing times.

  • Bachelor’s degree (original proof required; transcripts accepted for ongoing education).
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to attend work regularly.
  • Clear PVSC.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and quality.
  • Experience in healthcare fundraising preferred.
  • Portfolio demonstrating creative or technical writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, and Raiser's Edge.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
