We have an exciting opportunity in the National Service Region (NSR)! This position will be located at the Communications Security Establishment (Edward Drake Building)*

Candidates Must Have No Criminal Record And Must Be Eligible To Obtain Top Secret Security Clearance. Top Secret Clearance Process Requires The Candidate To

  • Be able to provide 10 years of verifiable background information
  • Provide proof of identity by way of valid Canadian Government issued ID
  • In addition, candidates will be required to consent to being subjected to an in-depth security assessment, as well as criminal record and credit checks.

The Coordinator, Facility Management, manages and administers facility management contracts for the Client-Partners. The incumbent carries out all administrative activities and duties related to facility management, maintenance and minor construction contracts. The incumbent may prepare maintenance management plans, conduct building systems inventories, and review computerized maintenance management system data and reports.

Key and Periodic Activities

The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative but not all-inclusive:

Primary
  • Manage and administer contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements (e.g. ensure activities conform to contract requirements, carry out safety reviews, and manage service providers, including consultants and contractors, to ensure they meet Client-Partner requirements and contract obligations)
  • Provide services to support facility management contracts (e.g. review maintenance quality, carry out environmental and occupational health and safety audits, conduct contract inspection, coordinate activities of consultants and oversee commissioning)
  • Support the operations and maintenance of facilities (e.g. electrical, HVAC, plumbing, building automation, fire detection and suppression, electronic security and communication systems, roads and grounds).
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities for compliance, performance, Client-Partner satisfaction, safety and asset integrity
  • Maintain records, schedules and documents, and prepare standard reports.
  • Coordinate the input of third parties into contracts (e.g. TSSA, ESA, soil testing contractors, consultants)
  • Prepare building asset inventories
  • Review maintenance management plans to ensure they conform to industry, legislative and Client-Partner standards, and applicable codes and regulations
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client-Partners and/or stakeholders
  • Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectations

Formal Education And/or Certification(s) And Experience
  • Minimum: college diploma in facility management or related field with approximately two years’ relevant experience, or the equivalent
  • Preferred: certification in engineering technology, real property or facility management (Civil Engineering Technician or Construction Engineering Technician, and Real Property Management or Facilities Management Administrator)

DCC is responsible for the Personnel Security Clearance process . Typically to be eligible for a "Reliability" clearance, you must have five years of verifiable background information and to be eligible for a "Secret" clearance, you must have 10 years of verifiable background information. The process usually involves reference inquiries, verification of qualifications, criminal records checks, and credit checks (as required) and may require fingerprints.
