Job summary

RPMGlobal Canada is seeking a Coordinator, Environmental Services to support Client-Partners on projects, blending office contract administration with on-site environmental oversight. You will prepare reports, plans, and statements of work, support procurement, and monitor consultant performance.

Job description

The Coordinator, Environmental Services, provides environmental support to Client-Partners on projects of varying complexity, scope, and risk, combining office-based contract administration with practical construction-site environmental oversight. The incumbent requires a background in environmental sciences and a strong understanding of construction practices to effectively collaborate with consultants, contractors, project management professionals, and Client-Partners. Services may be delivered through in-house resources or third-party contracts.

The incumbent prepares and reviews technical reports, Statements of Work, plans, specifications, designs, and other environmental deliverables; supports procurement and contract management activities; oversees consultant performance; and conducts site visits and construction monitoring to verify that environmental protection requirements are understood and implemented.

Site-related activities may include coordinating and overseeing work associated with soil management, archaeology, biological and ecological considerations, hazardous materials, heritage and historic properties, and environmental health and safety requirements.

Primary

  • Provide overall project management services to ensure deliverables are provided on time, within scope and on budget
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client-Partners and/or stakeholders
  • Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectations

  • Develop environmental procedures, policies and directives
  • Conduct quality control procedures for service level arrangements and deliverables

General and Specific Knowledge
  • Environmental sciences principles, practices, methods, trends and legislation, with practical understanding of how environmental requirements are applied in construction settings
  • Project and risk management principles
  • Construction project environments, including the roles of consultants, contractors and project management professionals
  • Health and safety management
Formal Education and/or Certification(s) and Experience
  • Minimum: college diploma in biology, environment sciences, environmental engineering or related field with four years’ relevant experience, or the equivalent
  • Preferred: university degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or related field and/or specialized knowledge, training and certification (as applicable) in one or more environmental services practice area

Working Conditions
  • Primarily a desk-based role in a typical office environment, including contract administration, document review, coordination and occasional travel
  • Some work will be located on environmental or construction sites; the incumbent will be required to wear basic safety equipment
