COMPENSATION

$65,000.00 - $90,000.00 / year, Exempt, with a discretionary bonus of up to 10%.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Sensei Ag is seeking a dedicatedEnvironmental Health and Safety (EHSS) Coordinator to become a valued member of our dynamic team. This position is essential in supporting the Director of Global EHS as we collaboratively strive to identify, control, and eliminate workplace hazards while ensuring compliance with all environmental regulations.

Under the guidance of the Director, the selected candidate will assume responsibility for the Corrective Action Plan for their designated facility and will have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Conduct workplace investigations regarding safety concerns, incidents, and accidents.
  • Facilitate JHSC meetings.
  • Deliver training and manage EHS-related training requirements.
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections, walk-throughs, and equipment checks.
  • Monitor health, safety, and environmental KPIs.
  • Implement site Safety Culture initiatives such as STOP, Safety Committee, etc.
  • Implement site-specific emergency response or evacuation plans.
  • Own the facility-specific Corrective Action Plan and act as the point of contact for all matters related to EHS.
  • Implement site security programs and initiatives.
  • Use PowerBI or Safety Program Software to create dashboards that demonstrate EHS trends.
  • Communicate and provide timely updates to the Director of EHS, Site GM, and others as assigned.
  • Coordinate environmental reporting requirements with third-party consultants to ensure compliance.
  • Assist the employee return-to-work program.
  • Be a strong voice, lead change, and collaborate with all business unit functions.

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NEED

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an EHS role, in manufacturing, distribution, or greenhouse operations.
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and legislative requirements relating to:
    • Health and Safety Act
    • Environmental Protection Act
    • Canadian Center for Occupational Health and Safety
  • Safety investigations and inspections.
  • Emergency response (spills, drills, simulations, and weather events.)
  • Proficient use of MS Office, particularly Excel and other data management (SafetyChain, etc.) software.
  • Experience delivering EHS related training.

Bonus points if you have...

  • Act as site emergency responder/coordinator.
  • Past military service.
  • Joint Health and Safety Certification.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

  • Bachelor's degree in science, business, or another related field.
  • Must be able to obtain First Aid, CPR and AED certification within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Other certifications as required.
