Your opportunity:

Working under the direction of the Director (Administration), International Programs, and the Assistant Director, International Programs, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating and administering all non-academic aspects of the International Summer Academy (ISA) and enrichment and outreach programs/initiatives – offered in partnership between New College and multiple faculties; including student services, finance, and student life extra and co-curricular

planning. In addition, the incumbent will assist the International Foundation Program (IFP) team at New College. This position requires occasional overnight travel.

The incumbent will also be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of camp priorities to support the efficient and effective delivery of the continuum of camp programming and staffing (casual camp counsellors) to ensure effective and consistent delivery of programs as well as the annual evaluation of the programming. The incumbent will provide excellent customer service and ensure an inclusive and safe environment for the camp counsellors and camp participants.

As a member of the New College, International Programs Office, the Coordinator, Enrichment and Outreach Programs will be committed to an equity that recognizes, supports, and responds to the diverse histories, lived and marginalized experiences of international students and many communities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to enquiries from and providing detailed information to current/prospective students, parents, and guardians
  • Tracking and monitoring enrollments and informing management of enrollment numbers
  • Coordinating the preparation and distribution of program and/or course material
  • Providing detailed information to students on program and/or course requirements
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming; Coordinating the registration and admission process; Coordinating the residential and food services needs; Coordinating and supporting the student health insurance logistics
  • Updating and maintaining a procedures manual
  • Handling fees and/or fines on a regular basis; Working with partner schools/groups and providing in-person workshops and presentations
  • Serving as a resource to others by providing (non-supervisory) administrative guidance

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum two years of recent and related experience administering language learning and extra-curricular programs for international students, preferably in a post-secondary education environment.
  • Experience organizing and disseminating course and program information to current and prospective students and parents/guardians.
  • Experience organizing logistics for courses, workshops, and events.
  • Experience issuing invoices, tracking payments, and handling fees/deposits.
  • Experience with administering and coordinating summer camps, ESL learning, and enrichment programs. Experience directing casual summer camp and enrichment program staff.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Intermediate skills with Adobe Creative Suite, or other similar editing tools.
  • Intermediate skills with ROSI/ACORN, Degree Explorer, or other similar enterprise database solutions/CRM systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated time-management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task and organize work, and meet tight deadlines while able to pay attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated strong student and client service orientation and experience fostering equity, diversity and inclusion in a language-learning environment.
