Job summary

Linamar Corporation seeks a Coordinator- Environment, Health and Safety to lead EHS policy implementation, audits, and training at our Guelph facility. You will monitor performance, analyze trends, and drive continual improvements while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, leading investigations, and guiding the Joint Health and Safety Committee.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Ergonomics, Applied Sciences, Engineering or a related field.
  • Completion of CRSP/CRSP designation or actively working towards the designation will be given preference.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the environmental, health and safety policies and procedures of the facility.
  • Prepare comprehensive written reports with clear findings and recommendations.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on environmental health and safety performance. Review safety statistics, conduct trend analysis and make recommendations for continuous improvements.
  • Conduct environmental, health and safety audits; both compliance and program based. Prepare comprehensive written reports with clear findings and recommendations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate risk.
  • Participate in routine and complex investigations related to workplace safety incidents.
  • Serve as a resource and provide guidance and assistance to the Joint Health and Safety Committee at the facility.
  • Provide health and safety training to all managers/supervisors, employees, and the Joint Health and Safety Committee, on topics including health and safety orientation, duties and responsibilities, health safety and the law, hazardous energy control, electrical safety, incident investigations, hazard identification, workplace inspection and promotion of safety awareness.
  • Ensure health and safety orientation/job specific training for all new employees, transferred employees and/or promoted employees is conducted.
  • Review Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System and update and implement procedures and practices, and ensure training is conducted in a timely manner.
  • Review safety statistics, conduct trend analysis and make recommendations for continual improvements.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessment reviews, workplace inspections and facility audits and provide a corrective/preventative action plan complete with responsibilities and timelines.
  • Develop and guide site‑specific industrial hygiene programs, activities, and initiatives by evaluating potential chemical, physical and biological hazards present in the workplace.

Coordinator- Environment, Health and Safety


Job Summary


Lead the implementation of policies and procedures in environmental, health and safety regulations. Ensure compliance with regulations and procedures by carrying out and analyzing regular audits of the manufacturing facilities. Provide information and training in a variety of EHS areas relating to the business.


Responsibility

Academic/Educational Requirements



  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Ergonomics, Applied Sciences, Engineering or a related field.

  • Completion of C.R.S.T. or C.R.S.P. designation or actively working towards the designation will be given preference.


Required Skills/Experience



  • One or two years of experience

  • Ability to understand applicable regulations to ensure that the company complies with legislation and develop effective mitigation and cost control strategies.

  • Extensive knowledge and application of manufacturing related environmental health and safety legislation and industry standards.

  • Fundamental knowledge and application of manufacturing‑related environmental health and safety legislation and industry standards.

  • Develop cost‑benefit analyses for a wide range of programs, such as health and safety training programs.

  • Ability to work independently to conduct research and develop policy and reports.

  • Work with industry wide professional organizations, boards and with colleagues both inside and outside of their organization.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.

  • Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is an asset.

  • Undertake continuous learning to maintain current knowledge of all relevant acts and regulations.
