Job summary

RPMGlobal is seeking a Coordinator, Construction Services to manage the Inspection and Technical Maintenance contracts for base infrastructure and fire protection systems. The role interfaces with Client-Partners, contractors and service providers to maintain safety, reliability and cost-effectiveness for DND operations.

The incumbent administers medium-complexity construction contracts, negotiates changes, and ensures quality and schedule adherence while aligning with service line requirements

Qualifications

• The minimum: college diploma in engineering, applied science or related field with four years of relevant experience, or the equivalent.
• Preferred: certification in applicable field (e.g. Certified Engineering Technologist).
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Apply project, contract and risk management techniques to construction contracts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and solve day-to-day contractual problems.
• Monitor and control schedules.

Job description

This Coordinator, Construction Services position is responsible for managing the Inspection and Technical Maintenance (ITM) contract, which supports the inspection, repair, maintenance, and lifecycle management of base infrastructure assets and fire protection systems. The incumbent works closely with Client-Partners, contractors, and service providers to ensure infrastructure systems are maintained in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner in support of DND operational requirements.

The Coordinator, Construction Services, manages and administers medium‑complexity construction, professional services and service contracts during construction to ensure compliance with contract requirements. The incumbent engages in daily discussions and negotiations with contractors, consultants and the Client-Partners about quality of work, interpretation of contract documents, scope changes, progress claim reviews and other issues. The incumbent addresses contract management risks within delegated authority, complies with service line requirements, and integrates activities with site teams and other service lines.

KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES

• Manage and administer contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and quality specifications

• Liaise with Client-Partner representatives (e.g. on contract-related problems and risks, negotiate and issue change orders)

• Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client Partners and/or stakeholders
• Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectations
