Job summary

WinSport in Canmore is seeking a part-time Coordinator for the Bill Warren Training Center (BWTC) to support daily operations, manage memberships, and assist with events at the Nordic Center.

The role emphasizes safety, guest service, and teamwork; you will open/close the building, help with weddings and functions, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for athletes and the public.

Evenings and Saturdays required; strong MS Office skills and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide friendly customer service to the public and athletes.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support during operating hours at BWTC and manage memberships.
• Ensure facilities are maintained safely and cleanly per WinSport policies.
• Coordinate BWTC fitness room memberships and related access.
• Open and close the BWTC building.
• Prepare BWTC for pre-booked functions and events.
• Assist with room setup for weddings and other functions.
• Support sporting events and functions at Nordic Center & BWTC.
• Maintain security of buildings and contents.
• Adhere to WinSport safety policies and report hazards.
• Work evenings and Saturdays as required.

What the role is all about:

The Bill Warren Training Center is part of the 1988 Olympic Legacy, Owned and operated by Winsport; Located in Canmore at the Canmore Nordic Center. We are the National training center for Nordic and Biathlon Canada, we are a Public Gym, a Wedding facility and much more. The role is part time (10-20hrs/week) working with a small team.

What you will be doing:

• Provide administrative support during operating hours at the BWTC, maintaining fitness room memberships through cash and computer input
• Ensure the facilities are maintained in a safe and clean condition according to applicable health and safety standards and WinSport policy
• Coordinate BWTC fitness room memberships
• Open & Close the building
• Prepare the BWTC for pre-booked functions and other events.
• Assist with room set-up for Weddings and other functions
• Assist with Sporting events and other functions at the Nordic Center & BWTC
• Ensure the security of the buildings and their contents
• Demonstrate a safe work practice at all times by adhering to all WinSport safety policy and procedures and ensuring one’s own safety is preserved along with the safety of co-workers, direct reports and WinSport guests
• Be mindful of all safety hazards/concerns within the work environment and ensure all safety issues are reported to the appropriate individual
• Must be able to work evenings and Saturdays
