Job description

Position Information

The Coordinator 2, Employee Scheduling, is the key contact for TOH leaders within a designated portfolio for their employee scheduling needs. The Coordinator provides scheduling/staffing advisory support to stakeholders to develop solutions to complex staffing challenges. This role is responsible for advanced scheduling tasks, including developing and maintaining master schedules, collecting staff availability information, managing requests for time off, and developing communication rotations, all in compliance with applicable Collective Agreements and the governing Service Partnership Agreement.

The Coordinator supports leaders with position management related to staff movement. This role also provides daily direct supervision to the Staffing Assistant(s) supporting their portfolio, including assistance with complex queries and challenges.

Temporary Position Details

Until approximately April 1st, 2026.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8-hour shifts.

What You Will Bring
  • Two-Year Community College Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of experience in computerized staff scheduling in a complex, unionized environment, preferably in healthcare.
  • One (1) year of Lead/Coordinator experience in a healthcare services/unionized environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of scheduling language in applicable Collective Agreements.
  • Knowledge of scheduling systems and managing employees in a complex, unionized, 24/7 environment.
  • Knowledge of position management and position control.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with scheduling systems and computer applications (e.g., UKG, PeopleSoft, Word, Excel).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, interpersonal, and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to train, guide, and provide feedback to others.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with TOH programs, hospital policies, and departmental functions and their interrelations.
