Job Opportunity : Cook in Long-Term Care Facility

RhynoCare Staffing is seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our culinary team at partnered long-term care facilities. This role involves preparing nutritious meals, collaborating with dietary staff, and maintaining a safe kitchen environment. Experience in a long-term care setting is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and cook meals according to dietary requirements and menus.
  • Serve meals at appropriate temperatures and times, respecting resident preferences.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Collaborate on menu development to meet nutritional needs.
  • Assist in controlling food costs, waste, and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with Public Health and Ministry of Long-Term Care standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
  • Support special events and catering as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program as per Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act.
  • Chef / Cook Certification from a recognized college, preferably Red Seal.
  • Food Handler's Certificate (up-to-date).
  • Experience in long-term care or with seniors preferred.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check within 6 months.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination per Ontario policies.
