Qualifications

  • 2-8 years cooking experience for Line & Sr. Line Cook roles, or 1 year for Prep Cook.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience with French cuisine preferred.

Our beautiful Cluny Bistro and Boulangerie is actively seeking talented and experienced SENIOR LINE COOKS, LINE COOKS and PREP COOKS to join our Back of House Team!

We’re located in the Distillery Historic District, one of North America's most exciting art and shopping destinations and home to some of the top-ranked restaurants in the City of Toronto.

The Distillery Restaurants Corp. is the creator of Cluny Bistro, El Catrin, Pure Spirits, Madrina Bar y Tapas and Distillery Events. Please note : You must already have legal permission to work in Canada to be considered for this role.

What you’ll experience with The DRC :

What you’ll be doing :

  • Preparing food according to recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set out by our Executive Chef
  • Infusing care for the customer experience and the restaurant’s reputation in every dish
  • Operating standard kitchen equipment with caution
  • Maintaining clean and organized stations
  • Following FIFO method to maximize product freshness
  • Moving food products and supplies between outlets when necessary
  • Reporting any equipment / utensil malfunctions / deficiencies to Chef on duty
  • Working collaboratively with BOH team members
  • Being kind and supportive with your colleagues on every shift.
  • Other duties / responsibilities as assigned

What you’ll bring to the kitchen :

  • EXPERIENCE. You have at least 2 - 8 years’ cooking experience (for Line & Sr. Line Cook roles) or 1 year of experience (for Prep Cook positions) in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Ideally, you have experience with French cuisine
  • EDUCATION / TRAINING. You’ve graduated with a culinary degree / diploma or it’s in process. It’s possible that school wasn’t your thing, but you’ve got the equivalent to a college education through a combination of education and experience
  • PASSION. You have a genuine passion for food and a drive to create
  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS. You demonstrate exceptional relationship-building and communication skills among your team members at the restaurant.
  • ADAPTABILITY. You thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • PERSONALITY. You’re humble coupled with a good sense of humour.
