Hard Rock Ottawa Hotel & Casino is seeking a Cook to support daily food service operations. You will prepare, cook, and present menu items following quality and safety standards while maintaining cleanliness and proper sanitation.

You will work collaboratively with culinary and service teams to ensure timely, guest-focused service. The role requires a minimum of 2 years cooking experience and a Safe Food Handling certificate, with English communication skills as part of daily operations.

OVERVIEW

The Cook is responsible for supporting daily food service operations through the preparation, cooking, and presentation of menu items in accordance with established quality and safety standards. This role contributes to an efficient kitchen environment by maintaining cleanliness, following food handling procedures, and ensuring timely service. Working collaboratively with culinary and service teams, the Cook helps deliver a positive guest experience while supporting overall operational objectives and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for preparation of foods, including washing, peeling, and slicing.
• Cleans work areas, and stores deliveries in their proper location.
• Maintain solid knowledge of all food products, sanitation standards, and all policies/ procedures and is able to skillfully apply culinary techniques.
• Operates, maintains, and cleans deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, flat top grill, and other equipment according to instructions.
• Assists in lowering food cost and waste, properly label and date all products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.
• Work as a team, helping all team members to complete the required activities that ensure we blow away Guest expectations.
• Perform duties in accordance with company standards, policies, and guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as requested.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a highly regulated and controlled environment, but there will be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor to complete job functions as outlined or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, excessive noise.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.

Ability to walk distances.

The employee must frequently lift/push/pull and/or move up to 50 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS
