Responsibilities
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for preparation of foods, including washing, peeling, and slicing.
- Cleans work areas, and stores deliveries in their proper location.
- Maintain solid knowledge of all food products, sanitation standards, and all policies/ procedures and is able to skillfully apply culinary techniques.
- Operates, maintains, and cleans kitchen equipment such as deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, flat top grill, etc.
- Assists in lowering food cost and waste, properly labels and dates all products for safekeeping and sanitation.
- Works as a team, helping all team members to complete required activities to ensure guest expectations are exceeded.
- Performs duties in accordance with company standards, policies, and guidelines.
- Performs additional duties as requested.
Qualifications
Experience, Education, and Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1-year cooking experience.
- Safe Food Handling certificate.
- Experience in standalone restaurant settings.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (reading, writing, speaking).
Skills
- Knowledge of safe handling practices with knives, utensils, and hot plates.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to move throughout the kitchen (standing, walking, kneeling, bending).
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent use of hands and arms, and ability to see clearly in various visual capacities.
- The environment is hectic, noisy, and crowded, typical of a casino setting.
Working Conditions
- Work may be performed in a regulated environment, with times on the Casino Floor exposed to noise and activity.
