Job summary

Senior Persons Living Connected is seeking a Cook for a Full-Time Contract in Toronto, Ontario. The role involves preparing meals for a blended adult demographic at St Pauls’ Terrace, ensuring safe handling and sustainability in daily operations.

Qualifications

  • One-year work experience in preparing meals for 35 people or more.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to hot temperatures in the kitchen.
  • Standing for long periods.
  • Exposure to hot food and beverages.
  • Exposure to sharp and hot kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Creates blended menu options that meet the nutritional dietary needs of a diverse adult customer base.

  • Inspects food deliveries for quantity and quality, rejecting inferior items when necessary.

  • Follows safe food handling, preparation, storage, and sanitation standards.
  • Monitors kitchen environment regularly to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Position: Cook

Position Type: Full-Time Contract

Contract Duration: One (1) Year

Hours of Work: Between Mon to Fri from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, then 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Must be available to work every other Saturday.

Compensation: $19.96 - $24.95 hourly

Reports to: Restaurant Operations Manager & Chef

Position Summary

Responsible for preparing and cooking meals at the St Pauls’ Terrace Restaurant for a blended demographic of customers by coordinating, preparing and providing other supportive duties to its daily operations.
