Please note: This is a part-time position, mostly weekday evenings.

Job Description

Our Cooks demonstrate inspired quality in all their work. Their passion for food and cooking is contagious, and they have a desire to serve the best every time. Cleanliness is maintained throughout service, and they gladly honor guest special requests.

The Day to Day :

  • Perform delegated tasks from Sous Chef, Chef, and/or General Manager
  • Prepare food for the event space daily according to O&B standards
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant
  • Maintain a prep list of station duties
  • Use the FIFO method to maximize freshness
  • Assist in food inventory and control
  • Properly receive and store delivered items
  • Clean food prep areas, equipment, and utensils; strictly adhere to sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines
  • Follow WHMIS and MSDS guidelines
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant or event/catering environment
  • Culinary diploma or degree is an asset
  • Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
  • Ability to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Able to stand 100% of the time
