Job summary

The Opportunity

The Cook at our Long-Term Care residence is responsible for preparing and serving proper meals on time and maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.

What Is In It For You
  • Check special diet orders for new admissions to ensure accuracy (as required).
  • Respond to resident or family concerns and ensure appropriate action is taken within your decision-making authority or escalate to the Food Services Manager/Supervisor.
  • Supervise Food Services Workers and oversee the operation of the Food Services Department as required.
What You Will Need
  • Prior experience as a Cook, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate.
  • Minimum of a high school education; a diploma or certificate in quality food preparation and production is preferred.
