The Opportunity

The Cook at our Long-Term Care residence is responsible for preparing and serving proper meals on time and maintaining work areas in a safe and sanitary condition.

What Is In It For You

• Check special diet orders for new admissions to ensure accuracy (as required).
• Respond to resident or family concerns and ensure appropriate actions are taken within your decision-making authority or escalate to the Food Services Manager/Supervisor.
• Supervise Food Services Workers and assume responsibility for the operation of the Food Services Department (as required).

What You Will Need

• Prior experience as a Cook, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate.
• At least a high school diploma; additional education in food preparation is preferred.
• Diploma/certificate or equivalent in quality food preparation and production.
