Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in East Gwillimbury, ON is seeking a Cook to prepare and deliver meals for residents, guests, and staff. Reporting to the Culinary Manager, you will review menus, follow recipes, and ensure meals are served attractively.

Experience in large-scale healthcare cooking and a Food Handler's Certificate are required, with Red Seal preferred. Ability to lift heavy items and work in a team is essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate.
• Red Seal Certificate preferred.
• Experience in large quantity food preparation, preferably in a healthcare or retirement setting.
• Knowledge of Provincial Food Premises Regulation and Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating.
• Knowledge of and experience with special and therapeutic diets.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy items and stand for long periods.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Vulnerable Sector Check (Criminal Background Check) within six months or willingness to obtain.
