Great Blue Resorts owns and operates 10 private resort lakefront properties located throughout Ontario’s cottage country. These properties offer outright ownership of beautiful pre-manufactured seasonal recreational cottages. Our resorts have full facilities including community areas, swimming pools, splash pads, multi-sports courts, playgrounds and beaches.

Cook Role Overview

The Cook role at Great Blue Resorts is designed to ensure the Corporate Objectives of maximizing profitability and Owner, Guest & Staff happiness for their resort by following the 3V Philosophy of Visibility, Velocity and Value. The Cook is a strong sales driver, profit-focused and people-oriented.

They will manage their assigned duties and responsibilities. The Cook will be responsible for helping to maintain the overall culture of the resort and to ensure that staff also represents and embraces Great Blue Resorts culture and goals and is fundamental in the contribution of the overall success of the Golf Course business.

Responsibilities

The Cook’s role is to ensure that there is no hold-up to ensure that the guests’ food is prepared and served within the guided timelines. The Cook’s responsibility will include but is not limited to the following:

  • Maintain the overall image of the BBQ.
  • Support a safe, clean, and well-maintained area for guests.
  • Update signage to promote daily specials.
  • Order and organize supplies in the cooking area and restock inventory.
  • Oversee all inventory tracking and monthly submissions.
  • Keep work area clean, sanitized, and ready for business at all times.
  • Prepare food based on guest orders.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working with hot surfaces, sharp objects, and other potential hazards.

The Cook must ensure that the BBQ and preparation area meets the expectations of the customers and lives up to its predefined brand image. One of the major responsibilities of the Cook is to make the guests feel safe and comfortable, ensuring that the customer leaves with a positive outcome.

Skills/Requirements

  • Previous experience in a high volume customer service role with proven multi-tasking abilities.
  • Experience processing payments.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to perform multiple revenue generating opportunities and provide resort support with potential owners, existing owners, and rental guests with little to no supervision.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in differing weather conditions.
  • Must be available to work weekends and some evenings.
