Job description

Reporting to the Executive Chef and under the supervision of the Chef de Partie, this position delivers quality, value-priced dining by cooking food to meet restaurant, catering, and deli needs.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Seasoning and cooking food in a wide variety of preparations.
  2. Carrying out general cleaning and kitchen maintenance.
  3. Strictly following established processes and standards for safe food production and handling.
  4. Working effectively as part of a team to ensure the safe and efficient preparation of food.
  5. Handling other related tasks as required to produce quality meals for Casino guests.

Conditions of Employment

  • Successful candidates are subject to a background check and are required to obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) / Indigenous Gaming Regulators (IGR).
  • The minimum age to work in a casino or any area where gaming can be seen is 19 years.
  • Some SIGA locations operate in a high sensory environment, which may include exposure to tobacco smoke, high noise levels, flashing and blinking lights, and a congested workplace. SIGA adheres to all occupational health and safety regulations to limit adverse effects.
  • As part of our commitment to safety, SIGA has a Drug & Alcohol policy for employees.
  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements applicable to your position, including SLGA and Anti-Money Laundering regulations under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act, is mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Combination of relevant education, training, and/or experience.
  • Successful completion of Food Safe Handling Certificate is an asset.

Experience

  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen is preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse situations and personalities.
