Job summary

SSP Canada at Billy Bishop Airport is seeking a Line Cook to receive orders and prepare dishes for guests, while keeping the kitchen organized and compliant with safety standards. You will setup the kitchen, manage inventory, and ensure tools and ingredients are readily available for your shift.

The role requires at least one year in food service, a high school diploma, and strong English communication. You must be able to work in a secure airport environment and obtain Transport Canada security

Qualifications

• One year minimum experience in food service environment.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Verbal and written communication essential.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

Here are a few things you can expect as a Line Cook withSSP Canada:

• Follows the recipes, checks the portion of the recipes, the garnishes and present the dishes ordered.
• Handle, store and rotate the stored products properly.
• Ensures regular maintenance, cleaning and proper functioning of assigned equipment and machines.
• Completes opening / closing procedures
• Put all the utensils used during the shift in its place, clean and tidy up its work place as well as the storage areas (includes refrigerators, freezers), empty, clean and store the bins.
• Practice general and specific cleanings using the appropriate products as indicated by the manager in order to meet hygiene standards.

• One year minimum experience working in food service environment
• High school diploma, preferred
• Verbal and written communication is essential
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time.
• Ability to obtain Transport Canada security clearance.
