Lookout Housing and Health Society in Surrey, BC, is seeking a Cook to prepare, cook and serve daily meals for guests, maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards. The role reports to the Site Manager and requires respirator fit testing and COR health and safety compliance.
Applicants should have Grade 12, a Cooking Diploma, two years of related experience, and current First Aid Level 1 and FOODSAFE certificates. Shifts are Tue–Sat, 7.5 hours; wage ranges 27.17–28.97 CAD hourly.

Shift times will be 1030 - 1830 Hours
Shifts are 7.5 hours in length
Days of rest shall be consecutive. Schedule may change with two weeks’ notice
Probationary/qualifying period will be 488 hours with mid and end point reviews
$27.17 - 28.97depending upon applicants' length of seniority (as per the Collective Agreement)
The Cook reports to the Site Manager and works in accordance with the mission and philosophy of Lookout Housing andHealth Society including following Lookout’s Code of Ethics. The Cook prepares, cooks, and serves daily meals and isresponsible for ensuring availability of food and beverages for guests. Maintains a high standard of cleanliness in eatingand prep areas.
This position requires successful completion of respirator fit testing, as Lookout is COR (Certificate of Recognition) certified and must comply with WorkSafeBC health and safety requirements. To ensure a proper respirator seal during fit testing and use, employees are required to be clean-shaven where the respirator seals against the face.
