Job summary

WinSport in Calgary is hiring Cooks for Garden Café, Food Court, EightyEight Lounge, Hockey House, Snack Shack, Concessions and catering events. You will prepare and cook high‑quality food to WinSport standards, reporting to the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs, with opportunities to grow within our hospitality team.

Cook 1 requires 3–2 years' experience (or 3rd‑year Apprentice); Cook 2 requires 2–3 years’ experience (or 2nd‑year Apprentice).

Qualifications

• Cook 1: Required 3-2 years' experience (and/or 3rd-year Apprentice)
• Cook 2: Required 2-3 years’ experience (and/or 2nd-year Apprentice)
• Aged 18+
• Able to work independently
• Alberta Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract preferred. Willingness to learn WinSport vans/trucks is an asset, not required

Responsibilities

• Daily food preparation
• Work within multiple kitchens including Garden Café, Hockey House, Main Kitchen, Food Court, and 88 Bar & Grill
• Prepare and cook for various menu styles including quick service, plated buffet, catering deliveries, to-go, and high-volume events
• Ensure all culinary workspaces are kept clean and well maintained
• Provide exceptional service and support the WinSport Brand to encourage repeat business and loyalty

The Cook 1, and Cook 2, positions are responsible for preparing food in WinSport’s Garden Café, Food Court, EightyEight Lounge, WinSport Hockey House, Snack Shack, Concessions and catering events. You will be reporting to the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs and be expected to prepare and cook high-quality food to the WinSport standard.

The successful candidates must be available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings.

What you will be doing:

• Daily food preparation
• Work within multiple kitchens including WinSport’s Garden Café, WinSport Hockey House, Main Kitchen, Food Court, and 88 Bar & Grill.
• Prepare and cook for various menu styles including quick service, plated buffet, catering deliveries, to-go, and high volume specialist events
• Ensure that all culinary workspaces are kept clean and well maintained
• Provide exceptional service, encourage repeat business and loyalty while supporting the WinSport Brand

What you bring:

• Cook 1: Required 3-2 years' experience (and/or 3rd-year Apprentice)
• Cook 2: Required 2-3 years’ experience (and/or 2nd-year Apprentice)
• Aged 18+
• Able to work independently
• Technical training in a recognized culinary course is an asset
• Alberta Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract preferred. The willingness to learn to operate WinSport vans/trucks is an asset, but not required

You will be:

• Walking and standing up for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to push, pull, lift or carry up to 25lbs frequently.
• Must have full mobility and be able to work in a physical environment.
• Work schedule will include evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
