Lev Senior Living in Brampton is seeking a part-time to permanent cook and casual shifts to support meal service for residents. The role emphasizes preparing meals for large groups, following therapeutic diets, and maintaining high kitchen safety standards. You will work with a dedicated team to deliver nutritious, appetizing meals in a caring environment.

Ideal candidates have a Food Safety Handlers Certificate and experience with large quantities of food. Red Seal is an asset.

Start Date: November 8, 2026

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday; Every weekend

Requirements:

• Current Food Safety Handlers Certificate
• Previous cooking experience for large groups worked in kitchen preparing food, Red Seal an asset

Qualifications:

• Experience in large quantity food preparation
• Passion to demonstrate a creative flair for food preparation and presentation
• Knowledgeable of special and therapeutic diets
• Physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for the majority of a shift.
• Able to work accurately, quickly, and safely
• Able to increase or decrease recipes to meet the needs of the retirement home
• An effective team player who works quickly & communicates well
• Must be able to read, write and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be an effective team player who works well with and teaches others
• Must be able to work and communicate effectively with senior residents and other team members

Responsibilities:

• Prepare foods for residents & guests
• Review menus before preparing meals and prepares and serves them properly and attractively
• Ensures, practices and teaches use of proper food handling techniques
• Prepares and serves foods for therapeutic diets according to planned menus
• Assists in dish and pan washing
• Assists in maintaining cleanliness of kitchen
• All other duties as assigned
