The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA), Chief Operating Officer (COO), Indigenous Health is a member of the Executive leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The COO, Indigenous Health is a strong advocate for the rights of Indigenous peoples and has the authority, the autonomy, and the budget to institute positive changes to further the WRHA’s mandate to improve the heath outcome of Indigenous peoples. This position has a working relationship with the Indigenous Health sub-committee of the WRHA Board or Directors.
MAIN FUNCTION:
The organization recognizes the importance of building an exemplary health care labour force that is inclusive and reflective of the population it serves. THIS IS A DESIGNATED INDIGENOUS COMPETITION, OPEN TO INDIGENOUS APPLICANTS. Applicants are required to self-declare, and those selected for an interview will be asked to provide references and answer interview questions related to the designation. This process will apply to both internal and external applicants.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
