Summary
Reporting to the Converting Supervisor, the Converting Assistant is responsible for the safe operation of converting production equipment to optimize safety, quality, productivity and waste reduction and to achieve operational targets.
Shifts: day shift 7:00am-3:00pm, afternoon 3:00pm-11:00pm, night 11:00pm-7:00am
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of converting production machinery (Die Cutting and Flexo Presses)
- Working safety in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures and OHS legislation; wear prescribed PPE and report all hazards to supervision
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and work instructions from the Operator in order to set up and run equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform routine quality checks according to customer specifications and identify/report any non-conformances
- Verify product quality through visual inspection and measurement as per customer specifications on production copy
- Stacking and piling of finished units and affixing load tags
- Monitoring supply of bottom sheets and other materials to ensure they are readily available
- Maintain good housekeeping practices and following food safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Back up for the position is Unitizer
- Follow Company rules and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or related experience and/or training;
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
- Able to perform the physical demands of the position are a prerequisite
- Strong oral and written communication skills are a prerequisite
