Job summary

Redpath Canada Limited is seeking a Conventional Miner to safely operate underground hand-held drills and long toms. The role includes inspecting headings, scaling rock, and installing ground support to maintain stability and safety in underground environments.

You will work under Shift Supervisors and Captain, performing drills, installing mine services, and operating mobile equipment. Strong safety emphasis and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years or more experience as a miner.
• Ontario Basic Underground Hard Rock Miner - Common Core.
• Ontario Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Specialty Module U0004,U0005,U0006,U0010,U0011,U0012,U0016,U0024,U0028,U0080,U0082.

Responsibilities

• Identify unsafe conditions in underground headings.
• Scale back and walls as required to make the workplace safe.
• Drill holes using hand-held pneumatic drills or drill-boom mounted on bolter.
• Install or fix existing mine services such as vent tubing and pipes.
• Operate large mobile equipment such as 8 yard Scoop tram and scissor lift.
• Receive instructions from Shift Supervisors and Captain to coordinate day to day ground control requirements.
• Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions.

Job Summary

The primary role of the Conventional Miner is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of underground hand-held Jackleg and Stoper drills and long toms. Inspect existing underground headings, scale loose rocks and install ground support to stabilize rock mass and ensure safety.

Responsibilities

• Identify unsafe conditions in underground headings - high level of alertness required.
• Scale back and walls as required to make the workplace safe.
• Drill holes using hand-held pneumatic drills or drill-boom mounted on bolter.
• Install or fix existing mines services such as vent tubing and pipes using various lifting equipment such as scissor trucks, chain blocks and hand tools.
• Operate large mobile equipment such as 8 yard (Scoop tram) and scissor lift (man lift),
• Receive instructions or directives from Shift Supervisors and Captain to coordinate day to day ground control requirements;
• Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner

• Comply with the Act and Mining Regulations that apply to the work area.
