Job summary

Eclipse Automation in Cambridge, Ontario, is seeking a Software Designer Team Lead to guide controls software design and coordinate engineering policies. This on-site role requires leadership to meet project goals and deliver Eclipse solutions on schedule.

You will mentor staff, drive software development across projects, and liaise with customers to ensure quality and safety standards. Travel may be required up to 25% for project needs.

Qualifications

• Has completed a University Degree or College Diploma in Electrical, Systems, or Mechatronics, or Robotics Automation Technology.
• Must have intermediate level experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens, and be proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Recognize problems, initiate action, assist in problem solving, and evaluate results on major issues prior to shipment of equipment to the customer.
• Review customer software design standards and ensure compliance on project execution.
• Perform code reviews and ensure all Software Design deliverables meet Eclipse quality standards.
• Drive project software development and integration through project completion.
• Guide, direct, teach, and advise department staff on software design practices and standards.
• Lead the software design project team to ensure contract deliverables are met.
• Promote positive relations with partners, customers, vendors, and distributors.
