Job summary

ZF Foxconn Chassis Modules in Windsor, Ontario seeks a Manufacturing Engineer (Controls) to support production, troubleshoot PLCs, robotics, and automate assembly processes, and drive continuous improvement.

The role focuses on process optimization, safety, quality, and throughput, coordinating with Maintenance and vendors to deliver projects on time, documenting results, and training staff on new methods.

Qualifications

College diploma minimum; bachelor’s preferred.
Strong PLCs and robotics background.
Familiar with OHSA, TS 16949, IATF 16949.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
MS Office proficiency; CAD (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) helpful.
Experience with MES, JIT environments.
Able to multitask in a loud factory.
Willing to wear PPE.

Responsibilities

Support production by restoring equipment and system functionality during breakdowns.
Troubleshoot and resolve root causes of equipment and process issues (PLCs/HMIs, robots, sensors).
Program, configure, and troubleshoot Atlas Copco tools, controllers, servos, and related automation systems.
Plan, manage, and complete assigned projects with Maintenance and vendors.
Develop, evaluate, and document manufacturing processes for safety, quality, cost, and throughput.
Identify process gaps and contingency plans; support customer trials with data.
Participate in daily cross-functional meetings and document shift reports.
Design and implement process enhancements and new manufacturing methods.
