Job summary

State Street Corporation is seeking a senior finance professional to oversee legal entity financial reporting, budgeting, and audit support across the IS business. You will collaborate with Controllers to streamline processes, strengthen internal controls, and drive consistent balance sheet metrics.

You will lead key governance activities, support regulatory requirements, and coordinate with global teams on onboarding and risk management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • 8–10+ years accounting experience in financial services.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities with goal orientation.
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Customer service orientation and teamwork capabilities.
  • Understanding of internal controls and issue resolution.
  • Experience with legal entity financial reporting and accounting.
  • Familiar with regulatory issues impacting financial services.

Responsibilities

  • Legal entity governance including financial statements, budgets, audit support, and board reporting.
  • Support IS BU controller on projects including process design and automation.
  • Improve documentation of process controls and define roles, timelines, deliverables.
  • Assist Controller goals and balance sheet substantiation.
  • Participate in risk governance forums and committees for the IS business.
  • Lead discussions with LFOs across BU balance sheets and assurance metrics.
  • Lead quarterly A/R reserve process and impairment analyses across IS BU's.
  • Own ICAMS responses and Archer initiatives to drive consistency.

What you will be responsible for
  • Legal entity governance – financial statements/budgets/audit support/board reporting, including capital planning, etc. –Audit support includes EY/corporate/regulatory.
  • Support the IS BU controller on specific projects. This can include process design improvements, automation and standardization of these processes, globally (15%)
  • Drive uplifting of documentation of process controls and procedures with the IS BU Controller team to better define roles/responsibilities, timelines and deliverables.
  • Support the Controllers goal of 1x1x4 (15%)
  • IS governance oversight including working with Controller COE on Balance Sheet substantiation and Assurance metrics as well as participate in Risk Governance forums and Committees for the IS business.
  • Lead discussions with LFO’s across all BU balance sheets and assurance metrics (10%)
  • Actively lead the quarterly A/R reserve process and other impairment related analysis as required (goodwill/intangibles etc.) across all BU’s in IS.
  • Primary responsibility for ICAMS responses and Archer initiatives to drive consistency across our BU’s (10%)
Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Business Administration or Finance
  • 8-10+ years’ accounting experience in financial services industry and overall understanding of financial products
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills coupled with a strong track record of executing against goals
  • Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Understanding of internal controls and ability to perform assessments and issue resolution
  • Experience with legal entity financial reporting & accounting
  • Familiar with Regulatory issues impacting the Financial Services Industry
