We are currently looking for a Controller, Group After Sales at our Corporate Offices in Ajax, ON

This position is responsible for assisting in the processes and controlling of the After Sales business including warranty finance, parts results, planning round preparation, budgets and month-end. The role maintains detailed monthly reporting for an integrated reporting system that ensures a fast, consistent and transparent controlling process to steer the After Sales business for both the VW and Audi Brands in Canada. The function will support achieving a successful overall financial plan and will have a direct impact on company profitability.

This is a hybrid flex position

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare planning round and Budget P&L based on latest Car park information, VIO, Parts sales, etc. for both Audi and VW After Sales business. The P&L is reviewed on a monthly basis with the Group After Sales Management Team (MTM), Corporate Controller and Manager, Group Controlling for final alignment.
  • Maintain the After Sales Rolling P&L monthly for actual results and forecast in collaboration with the After Sale business.
  • Analysis of After Sales reserves and inventory forecasts monthly.
  • Create cost centre Budgets in line with targets set by VWAG and NAR for both Brands. Review Budgets with MTM, Corporate Controller and Manager, Group Controlling for final alignment.
  • Host ongoing budget custodian meetings to discuss the specific area’s performance to identify any trends, risks or opportunities that may exist and take actions required to drive the business forward.
  • Review of all financial commitments submitted for Finance approval:
    • Purchasing Requisitions (KSRM Shopping Carts)
    • Payment Requests (PO and Non-PO upload forms)
    • Request for Capital Forms (RFC forms)
    • Contract review and routing forms for After Sales related business requests.
  • Ensure the accuracy of Month End Closing for After Sale Marketing and Structural costs of the correspondent areas of responsibility. This includes monthly tracking of Accruals & the decision-making process associated with increases or reduction of accruals.
  • Commitment control using check and balance procedures, four-eye-principles, and early warning processes.
  • Responsible for the overall warranty process from a financial perspective. Financial transactions, tracking, reconciling warranty reserves etc.
  • Provide detailed margin analysis for After Sales pricing to support the business with decision making.
  • Responsible for the overall management, approval and steering of the After Sales Capex and admin budgets.
  • Provide timely and accurate management reporting for each Brand and the NSC (National Sales Company).
  • Provide business units with financial consultant and strategic collaboration. Advise leadership on resource efficiency. Assist in business case development, ensure results are measured. Guide leadership as it details business priorities in plans, budgets and daily spending activities.
  • Assist in preparation of Financial Review and Supervisory Board meeting material.
  • Ad hoc projects and reports as required.

Qualifications:

  • Major in Finance, Accounting or related discipline and/or equivalent work experience
  • CPA (CA/CMA/CGA) designation
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a professional office environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong presentation development skills
  • Expert understanding of MS Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Analytical skills – Ability to dissect complex financial processes and identify risks and process improvements.
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing environment.
  • Team player that works well under daily and monthly deadlines.
  • SAP Finance experience.
  • Business Objects / Business Intelligence experience.
  • Strong understanding of automotive segments & automobile industry trends.
  • Strong business acumen – understanding of large, complex organizations and ability to interact with all levels of an organization.
