Job summary

BCCPA is seeking a Controller to lead the finance and accounting functions in an in-office role in Chilliwack, BC. You will work with the Leadership Team to guide financial decisions and operational planning while staying hands-on with day-to-day accounting and project accounting needs.

The ideal candidate has about a decade of accounting experience, a CPA is a plus, and a collaborative, growth-oriented mindset. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including responsibility for leading a finance and accounting function.
• Experience in construction, contracting, or another project-based business would be a strong asset.
• A CPA designation is an asset, but not required. We value practical experience and demonstrated leadership.
• Most importantly, you're a positive, collaborative, and down-to-earth team player with a growth mindset.

• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Manage project-based accounting, including progress billings, deposits, and project profitability.
• Partner with the Leadership Team on operational planning, financial decisions, business improvements, and strategic direction.
• Work closely with sales and operations to support project execution and financial performance.
• Improve financial processes, systems, and controls as the business continues to grow.

About the Role

We're recruiting on behalf of an established, successful, project-based business looking for the right person to join our Leadership Team and help the business grow.
