Our client is looking for a Controller for a 6-month contract. The role has strong potential of converting to permanent. Job # 447442

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Prepare financial and non-financial analysis to make recommendations to senior management to improve financial results and/or overall financial reporting process.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and dashboards for monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Work closely with the FP&A Manager to complete and analyze financial results.
• Oversee month and year-end financial close process.
• Review and approval of manual journal entries (revenue, accruals, banking, loans, intercompany, etc.), balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
• Review of AR, AP and payroll processes.
• Identify and implement new ways to improve quality and efficiency of financial processes
• Liaise with the external auditors and ensure completion of audit and review engagements each year.
• Manage all tax accounts with the CRA, including leading tax audits, submitting tax payments and controlling all tax programs.

Requirements

• Possess an Accounting designation.
• Possess strong understanding of accounting principles and internal control processes.
• Experience with coaching and development, and managing team.
• Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software.
• Experience with large ERP systems.
• Possess the ability to multitask, make operational decisions and support strategic decisions.
